Project Challenge
During operation of high-risk equipment such as punch or bend presses, operators may disable traditional safety devices to improve speed, increasing the risk of workplace accidents. What the industry needs is a device that can distinguish human limbs and automatically stop the equipment from pressing when there is apparent danger.
Solution
By training a neural network to recognize human hands and arms, and pairing it with an industrial-grade AI camera, machinery can be monitored in real time. Once personnel are detected entering the risk zone, the system automatically triggers the equipment to stop, reducing the occurrence of occupational accidents.
